Joan’s low calorie, super tasty snacks
A packet of pita bread (pockets) – flavoured or plain
Some cholesterol free rice bran oil
Kosher salt or fine ground rock salt
Cut the pita bread into triangles.
Rub with oil, so they’re coated all over but not soaked! You could use olive oil if you want to but rice bran or ground nut oil is fine too!
Lay the triangles on an oven tray and sprinkle with salt to taste then bake in a pre heated oven @ 120 deg (coolish!) for an hour, mixing them around a bit after 30 mins or so.
Allow to cool in the oven. Once cold, store in an air tight container.. great with dip or just on their own ..
