Hot Lemon, Honey & Ginger – Recipe

I know this recipe will hold 0 appeal to anyone experiencing Summer right now but to those of us here in Wintry NZ .. it’s not too bad! I am a big fan of this whenever I have a cold. Or even think I am coming close to having one.

You know that “ahem” thing you get in your throat before a cold? Yeah .. when that happens, use this recipe and send it packing k!

In a pot, put 2c water and 1/3c honey. Bring to a gentle simmer.

Meantime, peel 1 inch of root ginger & grate it into the pot.

Simmer for 5 minutes then add the juice of 3 large lemons. (Approx. 1/3c lemon juice)

If you feel inclined, slug in some brandy or mint leaves .. but if you’re anything like me – when you’re sick – you just want a fix and fast!

So simply drink this mixture from a warm mug and feel instantly better! No idea if it has any medicinal properties but it just makes the recipient feel GOOD. Even with a sore throat!
